Anyone with an interest in chess is assured of a warm welcome at the club, whether they
wish to participate in a friendly game, or receive further information regarding the
club's activities and the structure of the East Glamorgan Chess Association.
All necessary equipment is provided and no initial payment is asked. However for players
wishing to participate in league and cup matches, registration fees to the East Glamorgan
Chess Association and the Welsh Chess Union along with a small charge to cover the club's
administration costs will be required in due course. The club's subscription is £25 for
adults members and £15 for junior members.
The club operates on a fairly informal basis and visitors will not be put under pressure
to play games or become full time members. Advice and guidance is available if requested,
but the club firmly believes that experience against a variety of opponents is by far the
best tutor.
