Interruptions

    When a match is interrupted and cannot be resumed and concluded on the night (e.g. because of power failure, fire alarm or abnormal weather), then rule 6 (Time) shall be modified as follows:-

  1. Time
  2. Time shall be called and rule 13 (Adjournments and Adjudications) applied even in cases where the game was being played to a quickplay finish.

  3. Resumption
  4. If either player requests resumption at a later date, the rules governing continuation of games shall apply modified as follows:-

    1. Last Move
    2. The last recorded move shall be treated as an open sealed move, with the player who did not make that move making the initial decision as to whether or not they wish to play on.

    3. Next Time Control
    4. The time control at the 35th or 30th. move shall be disregarded (where this has not been reached) and the next time control shall be at move 70.

    5. Time Allowed
    6. On resumption, each player shall have 75 minutes to reach the time control, any unexpired time from the previous session being disregarded.
